beCyCle - just saying hi

Hello ya all,
we just thought we'd say Hi! to all of you and remind you that we're around at the bicycle workshop every Wednesday and Saturday from 1-6pm (see map on our website).

Since the beginning of term we gave out about 60 bicycles and now that we have only a couple left and people are still requesting bikes weekly, we thought we'd make a little "market survey" and just ask who else is still after one. When we get a rough idea, we'll go to our "source" at the police and get a bunch of NEW BIKES. So please, just email us "WANT BIKE" if you want one.

Aside from that, our CALL FOR MEMEBERS is still on. We could certainly use more administrative and mechanical help at the workshop. So if you feel like making this project happen, please come and join us.

A fun NEW PROJECT, run by a design student from Gray's School of Art is described in the pdf attachment. Please get in touch with Jen [j.grant1@rgu.ac.uk] if you want to get involved. And do tell us what you think!

becycly yours,
Dani

Freshers Fayre meeting re-schedule

Hi everyone

A couple of changes to the schedule.
I can't make it on Monday for a Freshers Fayre planning meeting and hardly anyone seems to be around. So we re-schedule it tentatively for Wednesday evening. However, the most important thing is that anyone who can help with our stall (Tuesday 23rd 10-3pm), the preperations (like making some posters or flyers) or with our first cafe on Wednesday let's us know.
Also we will now be going to get fruit and veg from the farm on Monday the 22nd, should be a fun trip and helping-hands are very appreciated and necessary!

Thanks
Robin

Shared Planet 08/09

Hello everyone

This is a first message from your new co-presidents of Shared Planet, we're already back in Aberdeen, that's how keen we are to get started on the new University term! (Actually Sofi, poor her, is writing her dissertation and looking for a flat - anyone know of any free rooms!) So you're probably all wondering what's going on with Shared Planet? Well here's what's coming up:

**Next Monday 15th Sep in the evening, a planning meeting for Freshers Week
-All those who are around should attend!

**Friday 19th a wee trip to the farm to collect the fruit and veg that we will be giving away free at the Freshers fayre

**Tuesday 23rd Freshers Fayre 10am-4pm, anyone who can help with our stall, please let us know already!!!! We need as many as possible

**Wednesday 24th Cafe in the Chaplaincy. Especially going to need people to help with the cooking in the morning, since Israel won't be here :-( Also some people to go about and tell others what amazing soup they just had and how good they feel about life. We will also be giving an introduction to SP at the end of the cafe.

**Friday 26th Bike trip to Newton Dee. First we will go to Becycle to show it off and in case anyone needs to borrow a bike. Then cycle off to Newton Dee for lunch or cake, a walk and then some sustainable grocery shopping. Assemble about 12, somewhere on campus.

11 October - A bothy trip??? Perhaps... are people keen?

If there is anything else to add please let us know, or any other recommendations or omissions!

Also, whether you are going to be around or not next year please let us know, including whether you want to be on the mailing list or not! Shared Planet would love to hear from all its friends!
Please, also pass on this email address to anyone else you think would be interested. Web sites will be updated soon, and a facebook prescence is also coming.

The most important things is for as many people as possible to get involved with the freshers week recruitment drive. Those freshers and exchange students are like gold dust, we need them to keep the enthusiasm going on into the next couple of years!

Hope you all had a lovely summer and looking forward to seeing you soon!
All those who have moved on and are living in the real world, come back and pay us a visit, we miss you :-(

Robin & Sofi
