Hi all,

Sadly, not only has the decision from Thursday been completely ridiculed by the media and those with aggressive voices and an agenda, but it is looking as though there is a witch hunt to remove Martin Ford as chairman of his committee at next week's emergency council meeting. Disgraceful.

We will need as many people there as possible, with banners.

Protest is on wednesday 12th December at Aberdeenshire Headquarters -
Woodhill House, 9.15am. Full address below and link detailing transport possibilties.

A large presence will be key - it won't look good if there are only a handful of us stood there - it will only emphasise what the media are
saying about us.

I have no idea what time the meeting will end, but I hope that there will be someone able to act as a spokesman for the media - I don't know if Mickey will be back for then. It can't be me as I have an appointment
later in the morning, and truthfully I'm not the world's best speaker.

I would ask those with contacts for environmental groups, and with contacts at the universities and colleges to actively get together as many people as they can. This will be a peaceful protest of course, but the numbers must be big to have any effect. We already know that the media is biased against us and thinks we are a bunch of hippies. We need to let it be known that this is not the case and that there are ordinary folk out there who are opposed to this.

We need to be there with large banners/placards and in number. There is likely to be a large media gathering, and our presence must be felt.

Let's see if we can make this our biggest presence yet. It may be our last chance locally to do this.

Transition Towns talk on Sunday!

Ben Brangwyn, co-founder of the Transition Town movement (grassroots
initiatives where local people take steps towards making their towns
sustainable) is coming to Aberdeen tommorrow (Sunday 2 Dec) to talk to
us about how we can set up a TT group in Aberdeen. The talk will be
held in NK11 (New Kings building, Aberdeen uni campus) at 8pm.
